Painting Water: Elements to Consider (2)

Now that the gradient has been painted, from “waterline” to “forewater”. Some rocks could be poking out of the surface. Where the rock will be above the water, will be a lighter tone than the area you want to be below. But you must factor in the direction of the light source from above “the sun”.
This then gives way to look at the shadow of the rock that would go across the surface of the water. But also, the reflection of the rock where the absence of light of the rock is on the surface of the water.
